We’ve stood where you’re standing.

Our senior consultant has over 15 years of hands-on experience working in kitchens and front of house across the hospitality industry — followed by 25 years as a recruiter placing people into it. That combination is rare, and it means we genuinely understand the pressures, the culture, and what it takes to find someone who doesn’t just fill a role but fits it.

We have a network of clients and candidates across mainland UK — some of whom we’ve known, worked with, and placed several times over a 20+ year period. Many of our candidates have become clients over the years. Sometimes we can find a vacancy where there wasn’t one — some clients will take on someone extra if they’re the right kind of person.

We work with award-winning hotels, restaurants, gastro pubs, Michelin and AA Rosette properties, start-up venues, community-owned pubs, and independent businesses of every kind. We work hard to find the right match — and sometimes it happens very quickly — but we would never make a guarantee we can’t keep. We’re honest about that.

The long game

From commis chef with no experience to Michelin star — in 15 years

A young commis chef came to us with big ambitions and no track record. He told us he wanted to become a Michelin-starred head chef. Rather than dismiss it, we sat down, talked through what that path would genuinely require, and mapped it out step by step. We placed him in the right property to learn the basics. Then a higher-accoladed kitchen. He understood what was needed, committed fully — and five years later earned his Michelin star.

He has since gone on to open his own group of three pubs. One of the placements we’re most proud of.

Community pub turnaround

Four locals, one dream, and the right chef

A group of four locals bought a community pub, tried to hire themselves, lost money on the wrong people. We listened carefully, understood what they really needed — not just skills but personality and patience — and found the right match.

Hotel manager to group operations director

Placed as a hotel manager in 2009. Became general manager. Now group operations and events manager for a small hotel group — 15 years and counting. That relationship started with one phone call.

Sometimes the bravest move is choosing to cook, not manage

A very experienced head chef wanted to step back into senior sous — to focus on the food without total responsibility. We found the right exec pairing, made the introduction, and trusted the match.
