OUR STORY
Started Small.
Built on Trust.
Premier Selection is a hospitality recruitment agency with deep roots across the UK. We work with an incredibly varied mix of clients — from new start-up pubs finding their feet, to community-owned projects, award-winning hotels, AA rosette restaurants and established universities.
We started in 1997 as Premier Cru, focused primarily on high-end Michelin properties. Over the years — through the highs and lows of the industry — we evolved alongside it, branching out across all types of venue and following our clients as they’ve moved, grown and opened new sites.
Our senior consultant Steve spent over 15 years as a trained chef, General Manager and small hotel owner before joining the recruitment side in 2001. That hands-on experience — over 25 years of placing people — means we understand both sides of the table in a way most agencies simply don’t.
Our motto is simple: “good people with good people.” We match the right candidate to the right kitchen — not just on skills, but on personality, culture and fit.
We’ve worked in kitchens ourselves
Steve spent 15 years as a chef, GM and hotel owner. We know what you need because we’ve stood where you’re standing.
We watch careers grow over decades
Commis Chefs we placed years ago are now Head Chefs and Chef Patrons. Many have become multi-site operators — and clients themselves.
Clients who come back, again and again
Most of our clients return. Many have been with us for years — often telling us they advertise themselves but always call us when it matters.
Our longest placement: over 10½ years
Still in post, still happy. That’s the kind of match we aim for every time.
